It is time to change the statistics for our mothers, daughters, sisters and girlfriends and be the difference in the fight against ovarian cancer today

Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynecological cancer, affecting one in 70 women. Today, more than 70 percent of ovarian cancer patients will die of their disease, compared to less than 20 percent of breast cancer patients. When ovarian cancer is detected and treated early, the five year survival rate is greater than 92 percent. Sadly, symptoms are vague and subtle, so most patients are diagnosed at later stages, and less than 50 percent will survive more than five years after their diagnosis.

10 Percent Will Be Donated

BELLAIRE, TX — M. Wiesenthal Men’s Collection will donate 10 percent from stores sales on April 24-26 to Evelyn’s Park Conservancy in Bellaire, as part of a community wide effort to redevelop the historic former Teas Nursery site into a park to enhance the health, safety and well-being of the citizens in Bellaire and surrounding communities.

The park is named for the Rubenstein’s mother, who long valued nature, community and family, the values Evelyn’s Park will help preserve.

Houston Heights: Bright Future, Great Heritage

Harolds in the Heights sign

Reading about the Houston Heights during August 2013 has been fun. On consecutive days this month, Houston Culture Map reported on the redevelopment of our family store location, Harolds “in the Heights,” and CNN-Money Magazine named the Houston Heights one of the 10 best big-city neighborhoods.

It is particularly nice to read in the Houston Culture Map story by Marika Rafte that the iconic Harolds sign may remain on the east side of the building there “as a nod to the historic former tenant.” As the Houston Heights flourishes, it is great to see that its heritage will not be forgotten. Harold was very happy to stay put in the Heights, a 60-year tradition, and give back to the community. We continue that tradition at M. Wiesenthal Men’s Collection in Bellaire.

Thanks to Mr. Kimberly for capturing this photo and making it available on Flickr.
